An award-winning composer, arranger and conductor, Gary Scott has created memorable work for a breadth of television series, feature films, commercials and the live stage.
With his music heard in such recent theatrical films as Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet as well as cult classics including Roadhouse 66, Scott has also composed and recorded scores for over a thousand hours of television programming. His music has provided a sonic guide for episodic fare and television movies on diverse broadcast, premium and digital networks, including HBO and Netflix, working alongside some of Hollywood’s most renowned producers including Joel Silver, Darren Star, Richard Donner, Mark Levinson and Aaron Spelling.
Touring as the musical director, arranger and conductor for folk singer Jimmie Rodgers, Scott subsequently assumed that role for the iconic Cher. He toured the world with her, conducting all performances including two television specials for Showtime and HBO, directed by Joe Layton and Kenny Ortega, respectively.
Scott began his musical training at the piano at age four. After graduating from the prestigious UCLA Film Scoring Program, he gravitated to the record business as an arranger, session musician and touring performer. Facile across myriad musical genres and platforms, Gary Scott continues to enhance entertainment productions in the U.S. and worldwide, whether on a scoring stage or working from his home studio in Los Angeles.
